Expanding Beyond Drifting?

Just throwing the idea out there that I think it would be great to get come grip racers in on some BnB fun aswell. I know it was originally just for drifting, but bringing in some grip racers would really bring some diversity to the scene. Such as a whole spew of new cars, events, garages, etc. rather than just Silvias, Truenos, sc300s and supras drifting in parkinglots.

Thoughts?

we have the auto-x and time attack challenges but most guys who join are drifters :/

I tried to invite a good crowd of racers I thought would be interested in the concept. I think most were turned off by the mostly drifting nature of bnb. I agree though, it would be really good for bnb to have a larger racing crowd.

If my connection was good, I would already be hosting racing events. I like racing a lot, drifting is my favorite but when you can't play multiplayer it takes a lot of fun out of it. That's why I've been pushing more time trials, autocross and even points drifting...I can actually participate

This is probably something that may happen when Forza Horizon comes out and we have everything all figured out for the new game. It's tricky but I think we can add one group at a time and move up that way.

It's just a matter of getting a handful of people interested in racing to join at once to sort of jump start the bnb racing scene. If only one guy manages to join....there's less incentive to stick around if you know what I mean

I tried to get more racers here by making the Time-Trials.
Also we have retro to do his Auto-X which made me happy as well.

The problem for races is that not everyone has the same GMT..
Same for drifting, actually..

No worries here... It's happening as we speak more than you know are fed up with fm.net, and branching out.

BNB is winning.

i cud see racing becoming a factor here..........but how far wud it go, all the way to Race cars, or still street

Has anyone tried making a thread in the Racing Lounge? I think it would be wise to ban certain supercars and racecars though. I would hate to see BnB turn less grass-rooty.

It would take forever for someone to buy one though.

This is where we could expand into bigger tourneys with sponsorship deals etc. thats how they all get miney in RL right.

there is only one person with enough money to buy a supercar, and he has plans to spend it on drift cars, i dont think we need to worry about losing the grassroots, although i wudn't mind owning a couple Ferraris

I think a pretty big change that could be made is to revamp the "Getting started" post to make it less drift oriented. This is basically the post that is used to advertise and spread the word, I have heard a few people say "that looks like its all about drifting, I don't like drifting."

It would really just be as simple as changing a few images and rewording a few things.

I agree Retro and when the site is being redone for Forza Horizon I will also change the "Getting Started" page because we are already branching out from drifting to things like Touge and Auto-X. Drifting will always be our roots but there are endless possibilities with BNB. And yes grassroots will always be our main theme no matter what Motorsport we jump into next.

I will definitely be up for some touge and street racing on horizon
