Q: My aunt is buying a Jaguar, the 2012 is a 5 liter and 2013 is a supercharged 3 liter. The difference of hp is 45 but the three liter saves more gas. The Jaguar dealer is selling the 5 liter for 8k cheaper though so which one should she get?

I think that in this economy, you need better gas mileage than you do horsepower. I would go with the 3 liter, even though it is more expensive. The 8k she saves will probably go towards gas lol. That's me though. If gas wasn't a million dollars per gallon, I'd say get the 5 liter.

Depends on how much your aunt drives.
If she goes for the occasional drive I'd say the 5, if she wants to use it as a daily driver for work etc I'd say the 3.
It all depends on your country's insurance and taxes though, here in the Netherlands the 5 would be way more expensive than the 3. You'd probably save the 8k in less than two years if you drive regularly.

If it's only a weekend machine I'd say the 5.

Fact is, if you can afford to buy it you can afford to run it too.

well i think she'll get the three liter because the gearbox is 8 instead of 6 gears
