| Cheers TRK, mind if I drop it in sometime just for rust prevention got some in the engine bay along with the typical underbody/wheelarches?
Needs abit more ompf at the moment so looking at a nice performance increase but nothing to much, might tear it down and give it a clean sometime over the holiday see what's worn out (still got the original engine, almost 23years old with 160k on the clock.)

| Cheers, well tempted to take it down this week (if theres room TRK) and if you don't mind take the engine out so you can have the shell to work with. That way I can take the engine away and give it a strip and clean, maybe the tranny too what do you fellas suggest? (I intend to take this build abit more seriously so any advice in 'realism' or good ideas would be grand) On a passing not, this car drives almost like my RWD Cossie just more comfortably lol. | |

| Cheers guys, mind if I drop it off say...Thursday? Means I got boxing day to arrange transport for me and the engine whilst I leave you with the shell. Thanks for the help guys means a lot (Updated my photo with correct license plate (well for tennessee)) -Edit: tell me if this is a bit too much for a story start - After backing up the semi to the dock in Carson, with the big DetriotDiesel rumbling away and the interior illuminated gently from the glowing instrument panel and backlit switches, I finished off my paperwork. The digital clock ticked over to 0130 in bold green numbers, I shutdown the engine and collected my stuff to leave the cab, my home four days a week. The countries change and so do the people, but the job was always the same, sometimes it felt like I was still driving from the UK to the continent and back in a battered old Volvo. Climbing out the cab and walking to the office across the muddy yard, puddles splashing at my heels, I heard the familiar sound of over-revved car engines and the whooshes of turbos making my smile faintly. Stepping into the low white portacabin office I grabbed a coffee and handed in my paperwork making light chit-chat with those in there mostly about the holidays. To be honest my mind was preoccupied with my new car, a nice 91 plate M3, she needed some love but I hoped to get that all sorted out soon after a local mechanic named TRK offered his services to me, throwing the paper cup into the bin I left the office and walked to my bimmer. Low, black and simple. Only noticeable modifications were the lowered ride height and aftermarket rims which cost me an arm and a leg to get imported from europe, I climbed in just as it started to lightly rain inside my breath formed light clouds, the engine turned over and the radio kicked in telling me about a crash on the interstate between two racers and a semi, seemed to be happening more often these days. I pulled out my phone and sent a simple text to TRK "Got space on thursday? You can have her for a few days whilst I strip the engine if you'd like." Being late I hoped it wouldn't wake him but I'd forget if I left it till I woke up in the afternoon. I left the depot and drove the few blocks home, the engine ticking over steadily but with a faint rattle and the new Borla exhaust give a nice deep growl, a slow smile spread across my face as I slide out on a corner due to water and drop it down, catching a quick drift onto the road for my apartment. I pulled over outside my apartment complex and shut of the engine I sat there listening to the radio as the first rays of sun came up.

| I've read both yours and cougars, what got me thinking: A: Want to take this seriously as if I'm building it (so guidance in places would be lovely, as I've not done such a thing yet sadly). B: Horizon can be more than a car game, it can be a social aspect and an amazing storyteller..which I wanted to be apart of.
I'll try to write another piece up tomorrow.

| I intend to Realised last night my dad had the same model M3 for about 3yrs in early 2000 along with a standard E30 for his misses. Always loved it, think I might try and pick one up in a year or two if I can. Anyway, spending my night browsing the net for new parts. Looking at an Evo2 front bumper not sure if I want the splitter or not though? Some Fikse FM/10s have caught my eye and a 'Green' cone air filter if I don't need to replace any seals, etc. once I've rebuilt the engine it's started to rattle abit and I don't like it. | |

| Woke up about half 10 today, the bright sunlight invading my apartment after all only the bedroom had the curtains closed. Wondering round the house groggily I wondered why my head was hurting so much, eventually I made it to the kitchen and picked up the pot of cold 2 day old coffee pouring myself some I shoved the mug into the microwave to warm it up. As I dug about for the sugar I knocked over a couple of empty bottles... that would explain the headache not that I remember even drinking last night.
With the coffee sitting on the side ready, I sloshed into the bathroom walking into the shower I got freshened up for work, not bothering to get dressed yet I flopped onto the battered couch and flicked the tv on as it started repeating the daily news I pulled out my laptop and it hummed into life. Giving me my drunk searches for last night, most of it was bull but I found something interesting, a local aftermarket shop page selling tow-straps I gave the number a ring and decided to pop down before work.
Driving down to the shop was pretty simple, took a nice cruise as I phoned a friend who lived around Colorado and explained that my car was going into the garage tomorrow and I could do with a lift, he told me not to worry and he'd meet there with his pickup so we could take the engine back to mine, he also said he'd sort me out with a ride for a few days.
I got to the shop 'Jerry's Aftermarket' it said in faded peeling paint above the shop window, bit dubious of how it looked I entered and mooched about after about half an hour the shop clerk appeared at my elbow as I was looking at some wheels. We got talking and he said he'd keep a pair of rims back for me with tires till I next got paid, I introduced myself as the guy who phoned earlier about the tow strap and we went to look, I saw a large selection from black of night to neon barbie pink, I picked up a strap and also got two tow stickers for $5 each which I thought was a bit sharp but the strap was cheap. I made my goodbyes and headed off to work for the night.

| Well today's the day I get to say goodbye to the little E30 for a while. I woke up with the morning sun glaring at me in orange anger, I rolled over to get away from it and landed with a flomp onto the floor kicking up dust, laying on my back I looked around my apartment for awhile from the living room floor the new angle changed my perspective of myself... I really needed a new place.
I got up and walked into the kitchen, rummaging around the fridge I found a box of eggs and an open pack of bacon, chucking a pan on the hop I found a carton of apple juice and poured myself a glass. Whilst the bacon sizzled and cooked on a low heat I hunted for my phone, eventually found it down the back of the sofa cushions, no idea how I ended up sleeping there, didn't even remember coming home last night must of been a hard night. I dialled a number on my phone as I opened a window to let the smoke out of the kitchen, after a few minutes ringing a voice answered, it was Louis from the garage, I asked if he was down the garage and what time he wanted me to come down with the E30, to my surprise it sounded like he couldn't wait to see it, with that I hung up and got on with breakfast.
I pulled out from the kerb and headed towards the garage, after checking both ways at a junction I kicked it down into 2 and had the end out round the wide slow bend, the low note rumbling from the exhaust a broad smile spread across my face and I began to sing along with the radio "I don't feel the way I've ever felt, I know, I'm gonna smile and not get worried." I hadn't felt so good in along time.
After about an hour I pulled up outside the garage, the large roller-shutter door was open and I could see someone tinkering with a 240SX, I killed the engine which let out a low rumble and walked inside, I looked around as the guy finished up what he was doing, all around was high-performance sports cars and parts, very few looked like daily drives. After a few minutes the guy finished and introduced himself as Louis we made talk and I showed him my car, TRK came out from a corner from working on another car and we talked for abit about what I wanted.
After another guy turned up and introduced himself as Ryan, he seemed another cool guy to know, they quickly got down to business and I realised these knew how todo this better than I did, TRK seemed more at home around the M3 then the others. After a few hours, if it was even that, they had the engine and tranny out, after which they offered my the garage pickup to take it home with so I phoned my mate to cancel the ride I'd organised.
Once the engine was loaded onto the back we sat about and had a few beers, we talked about our rides and I was amazed by what tales these guys had, all I'd really driven or owned was a cozzie and my bimmer, with the cozzie I'd done more touge time attack where the stories were nothing compared to these guys. After a while I made my goodbyes and hoped in the truck.
Heading home I got a call off a number I didn't recognised, pulling over I answered as light rain started to fall.
