Looks more like a war movie to me now. Kinda disappointed

i like it, F&F 1, 2, and 4 were cars, cars, cars, cars. the last 2 and tokyo drift actually had a strong storyline.

I have been told there are leaked pictures of the filming going around and that the Ben Sopora R35 is in it.

Looks epic and I can't wait

I agree, one reason Tokyo drift is my favorite because they did a good job mixing cars and storyline

i just hope it all works together,

i'll enjoy the film i'm sure but not the way i did the original. (point break + cars = win... even if brian didnt go 'aaarrgg' while shooting his gun in the air)
only the first film tried to show true street racers (mainly due to a low budget)
2 was fluff with nice cars and pretty ladies.
3 had a good if not perfect or original story (see any western with a loner and a love interest)
4 was a bit stupid and had the cars as an after thought (so we've got guns, gangstaz, revenge and shit loads of explosions.... oh shit we forgot cars man!.... dont worry we'll add some in post production lol)
5 is my GF's favorate because she's like a child looking at bright colours when it comes to action films lol (i love a good rocky or statham flick with no substance but not as much as she does)
plus points it had the rock and it made an attempt to include the cars by trying out different models to get past the security cameras and stuff

but all in all it seams we have a 'new oceans 11' series loosely tied into cars on our hands!
while its not a bad thing, i would like more films that are at the heart of car culture rather then using the cars as a set of shiny keys to jangle in front of us saying 'look at the shiny shiny' as though we are all infants.
But mainly the like the original rat pack oceans 11 is always going to be better then anything Hollywood can produce with todays money/sfx/skimpy clothed ladies.
the same as vin diesel will never be Steve McQueen no matter what cool things he says or how many cars he blows up!

jessie got shot in F&F1, i still dont know where leon is. i heard his teh shop owner in fast 4 but he doesnt look/sound like him.

I hope they take a bit more time then they did in fast 5 on imports. granted there was that one scene in the underpass, but thats all there was. That one part of the trailer gives me hope, same with the Ben's R35 possibly being in it

The films had a functional storyline, as in you could logically place them together. I wouldn't go so far as to say it had a strong one.

Tokyo Drift was only connected to the other films at the very end, in a scene that could have been tacked-on last minute. If Dom had never shown up in the last ten seconds of the movie, it would have been 100% independent of the other flicks - it's only in this scene where someone mentions Han knew Dom.

and the longer the franchise continues the funnier the bad guys choice of the 350z becomes

Hopefully their intake manifold welds are up to scratch now.

i stated i was talking about letty in the post explaining she died in F&F (#4) while asking why jessie wasnt in it as he's a better character. i'm still unsure why its a big surprise michelle rodriguez is in the film as she was alive in the ending in #5
as for the mendez... she's a good actor with some nice looks but.... i really didnt like her in 2F2F as it looked like she'd been smothered in cooking oil before shooting every scene, she kinda reminded me of a teenager that works the fryer at MaccyDees
