| So I got a little bit of cash set aside for a rainy day and I thought, "spend it on parts for the 240, or buy a tow car so I won't have to rent a truck when I wanna go drifting in the Silvia?" This question weighed heavy on my mind for about fifteen seconds, then I farted and checked the auctions for a used econobox. I was pleasantly surprised to find this minty clean Golf in the local Tokyo USS Auction lot. VR6 model, low K's, and well looked after. And it was LHD, being a German import. That's actually not even uncommon in Japan. They're obsessed with European cars here, and most of the nicer models (German cars in particular) come left-hand drive as standard. You see a lot of LHD Audis, that's for sure. So anyway, the price was right so I hopped public transport to the auction and sniped it the second it flashed across the monitor. Money was exchanged and I got a temporary rego to drive it home. Couple days later it aced shaken and that meant I could finally dump it on it's nuts and bolts. The well-maintained and insanely level and smooth Japanese roads where I live mean I can easily daily a lowered car. But it was as I was shopping online or coilovers that it occured to me the entire point of buying this car was to save money. A torquey V6 box that can pull my car on a wheel dolly and haul a bunch of tires and some spare gearboxes in the back, so I wouldn't have to rent both the truck and the dolly on drift days. Hmm. Welp. I settled on Racelands. Just 270 bucks, and they come with an UNMATCHED TWO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY, so that's great. It's all about the image anyway, right? At least it looks pretty rad. I do gotta say, I love that all you need to work on a krautracer is a 10mil spanner. Seriously. So yup. Has a nice NA rasp to it, which is always rad. | |

| After the part about the warranty, I forgot to add, "which is good, because I only need a week to break them". | |

| Would you mind sending over the Team Spooky vinyls? Not anything urgent. My ISP is supposedly working on their shit, so my connection is in and out at the moment. So really just if you happen to get a little time to send some shit, I would appreciate it.

| So I bought this S15 so I can kill myself. Literally to learn backwards entry. Got a little excited and decided to jump into the engine before concerning myself with the chassis and suspension. I know I know, not really my style. But I feel like building an engine so shut up. Pulled the engine pretty much right away and had NAPREC bore and sleeve it. Picked it up yesterday. Got some stuff from work, including a Blitz intercooler setup. Also grabbed a Kaaz 2-way and a Mazworx dry sump kit. Also sent my rocker cover off to be powdered! Kinda stoked. Got a nutty livery in the works, too. | |
