In your case, I would dump the efi for the carb setup. For a couple of reasons, 1 is that as Mike said you have a great hook up for the parts And the other is that you have experience with the set up already. The reason that I wouldn't if it was mine is because I've never had good luck with multi carbs on anything. And also that I've never once in my life pulled down a carb'd motor with more than 100k mile's on it that didn't need to be bored, but I've had several efi motors with over 250k miles on them that still has the cross hatches in the cylinders. It's not that I hate carbs, I just think for a daily driver that efi is the way to go. Also when it's 20 degrees here I can just reach through the window and start my Mustang and I could NEVER do that with my old Vega.

Yeah exactly,
If i wasnt used to them i wouldnt run them & yes they do have there setbacks BUT if you know what your doing i think there an overall better setup, just keep going to the same servo though or your forever adjusting your mixtures, thats the only real downfall ive found with them.
As for millage, my old setup a did over 300k's on that motor before i melted a piston, so whats that 60 miles = 100k's. So 180 odd miles plus. And that only ended as it was turbo with no intercooler and i turned up the boost a tad too much, was my owm fault lol

The only reason carbs wear out cylinders so much faster than efi motors is the initial start up. A carb dumps raw fuel into the cyclinder and washes away the thin oil film that the piston uses for lube and then it ignite's it where as an efi sends atomised fuel into the cylinder as it ignites it before it can "wash" the cylinder. As far as performance goes, a proper carb setup will never match a proper efi setup for power. Drag radial is a prime example of this. One of the guy's that races with us built a 363 short deck(8.2 deck height standard 302) with a F3 Procharger and a blow through QuickFuel 1250 Dominator that was making real low 1100 hp number's to the rear wheel's but he just couldn't compete, Bob "The flying Hawian" Kurgan talked him into switching over to a FAST XFI set up and it made over 1350 to the rear on the base line dyno pull with no other changes. I haven't talked to him in a couple of week's but Cooper was up there last week to pick up his car and Bob told him that they finaly topped 1400! We'll see Feb. in Valdosta at the radial vs the world race if he can compete now. If my motor is done we'll see how good I can do too.

Could possibly be buying a 84 Corolla or an RX-7 FC. But the Corolla cant be titled it says, and the FC needs engine work.

[center]'84 KE70 slant front
Runs a carby'd 1.4L 4Kc motor. They never came out with a 4AGE but it is the most common conversion motor wise for them as they'll bolt straight in with the 4AGE engine mounts fitting where they factory ones does, then a simple rewire, gearbox tunnel will fit ect ect
