| So i finally took the S15 to the paint booth. i liked the Body panels in the color they come in, so i removed them and laid down the base, re-attached them and went crazy with the vinyls | |

| If you ever wanna sell that S14...
And thanks, haha. It's actually way darker in the garage, but out in the sunlight the color explodes into a vibrant display of win. It's even a default paint color.

| well he's actually wrong about the build quality lol they are budget wheels compared to the likes of enkie, volk, advan etc... and as such sell more volume, so by basic math they will have more failures. look hard enough and you can find failures for any wheel brand, rotas just have a stigma and meme's perpetuated by owners of more expensive jdm wheels that use the failures as justification for spending 3 times as much on their chosen brand how many failures do tsw's suffer added to the fact they had the nerve to produce the 'venom' but any failures are put down to 'well they are a cheap brand' then you have the likes of dare (i own a set) that are cheap knock offs of cheap brands pmsl and one of the ones i have that needs a repair had a blow out at 70mph and scuffed up the outer lip and threw the ballence off by 90grams yes 70mph sckuffed up, 90 grams out of balance, proving with any cast wheel there are tolerances that manufactures cant control..... so best off getting machined billet wheels to be sure lol hell even magnesium race wheels have a tenancy to set themselves on fire during races when they get bored | |

| My problem with Rota is not just a quality one, and I don't think I'm wrong about them. My major issue with Rota is that they have the balls to straight rip-off premium wheel brands - brands that have earned a rep as quality, high-performance wheels - and sell them at such a low price that you'd feel stupid to buy the real thing.
I'm definitely not wrong about the build quality, haha. I've seen my fair share of cheap wheels smash to bits. I don't hate Rota because of the bandwagon effect. HKS America failed and closed up shop because companies like 3A Racing and Megan Racing with cheap-ass, low-quality garbage massively undercut them. They stole the market away, and in the long run drove them to failure - because people want the look of a high-end exhaust system more than they want the quality of one. So a cheap steel cat-back that will last six months will outsell a proper titanium setup every time because of a $600 price difference.
People work hard to create quality products, and then less-ambitious, shady people come along with a similar-looking product with an eighth the quality for a third of the price and basically give the originator the finger. As an artist, I find this deeply offensive and disrespectful.
The only reason I would support XXR wheels is because the wheels they copy are no longer in production in most cases. Even then, they create their own retro designs that are a little bit similar to classic wheels. And I've seen XXRs stand up to a lot more abuse than Rotas and other cheapo brands. That said, they wouldn't even be dailies on my car - they'd be my cheap rear drifty wheels.
Though in general, cast wheels are a bad call for any scenario. Potholes, dirt drops, hard braking, they're going to break at some point. It upsets me that DriftWorks carries and promotes Nardi (especially with a hilarious advert featuring Bon bending the hell out of a fake one) but then fully stock and support a company like Rota.
As for what wheels I'm going to run on the 240, I'm leaning towards something white-ish in 16in.

| Almost all oem wheels are cast and the 2 largest suppliers of oem wheels are enkei and rota. So all oem wheels are bad? Compairing cast to forged for build quality is for the most part unfair and trust me the shear number of rotas on the market makes the claims of thier poor quality false when offsetting the number of non accident failures they have had I totally understand the feeling towards ripping off other companies designs but how far away from the car do you need to b to see that the rotas are not volks? 20-30m? The designs ape the original but are not direct copies (which is some small compensation)
Comparing a mild steel exhaust vs a titanium one to rotas and other manufactures shows your bias Rotas are every bit as durable as other wheels in their price bracket If not why would they be on driftwork cars and British and European d1 winners cars? If you have the bank to build a d1 spec event winning car why would you scrimp on cheap dangerous rims? Unless they infact are not dangerous? All wheels undergo quality and safety tests by law and rotas pass just like any other brand that wishes to sell in the marketplace. So ner :-p lol

| And forging us used for weight saving, if a rim is forged then it is inherently stronger, so all manufacturers use this as licence to remove material as a rim that passes safety tests and is 4lb lighter is more important from a performance point of view then a stronger one | |
