| I only have 13k and no cars in my garage. I can't join an events yet but, I'm cool with that. That's what "grass roots" means to me starting at the bottom and working/saving for your next upgrade. That way it makes you think about your build and makes you value your car.
I know that I could get a car for 13k but, I rather save to get something I want and not settle. Because in real life I would do that.
My voice doesn't have to be heard, but I came back to BnB because y'all have a really good thing here with great people.
I love looking thru everyone's garage reading their stories and seeing how their car went from stock to sweet.
IDK I hope everything works out.

| Personally I think there is a little bit to much money in the community at the moment no offence to anybody but I'm using a example, you haven't been here long but by taking part in lobby's ever night you have acquired a R34 .. That's not very grassroots in my mind Me personally I am going to take part in the lobby's but only collect once a week from now on as I want BnB to stay as a challenge, not do 7 lobby's a week and buy a R34 :/ Also I am considering giving one off my cars away as I don't feel like I earned were with my S13 I feel proud of that thing I feel like I earned it My 2 penny's guys ;p

Only if you're looking to create drama. I started this thread in the hopes we could be civil and try to sort out why so many people are unhappy with BNB as it stands. But I've said my piece. Do whatever you want.

| I gave away over $80,000 at one point and most everyone knows that. I don't want any recognition about it or anything like that. I'm just saying that I did do something to help as many people as I could. I'm thinking about going back to that. I'll probably part out my R33 soon and do a giveaway thread with those parts. I'm not sure yet. | |

| Well I add my 2 cents in and just remember this is just an opinion and not meant to hurt any feelings or cause drama.......
As far as the lobby bonuses goes I say leave it where it's at. I don't remember if it was here when I joined but I can recall on NUMEROUS occasions looking at the bonus prices and thinking "man I screw around on this game all the time and I can get extra money by doin it!" And although no one probably figured on getting 1 16 man lobby let alone 6 consecutive ones, that bonus was up there. And I agree with ya, a lot of people are getting fast quick, I will pose this question......what did you think was going to happen? Would it be different if less guys collecting every day. Cuz as I read it 2 people can start a BnB lobby and collect $500 a day. Now correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't lobby bonuses made to stimulate activity and get the guys together? Has anyone of the lobbies happened outside of the rules? As far as I can tell no.... But now there is a need to change the rules to fit the spirit of BnB and that's understandable...but to say that's your last bonus or to just walk away is in my opinion taking the easy way out. Do what you want, it's ultimately down to the individual. Will I participate in lobby bonuses. He'll yeah. If you take them away will I find some other way to get BnB cash. Yup! Cuz that's what I need to hook up my rides and have fun. And before you get the wrong idea on that statement remember this is coming from a person who has 7 BnB cars and work during the 16 man lobbies so I've made my "empire" without them.
To sum it up, there are MANY options that can be explored without leaving or calling it quits. If this is something you enjoy, like I do, let's take the time to fugue it out before we wash our hands of the whole thing

| Don't get me wrong, the problem is not the community itself, it's mostly the ability to get money. | |

| Yes the lobby bonus was to stimulate activity but no the money wasn't an incentive to get the guys together. Ultimately fun and good times were meant to do that. The (used to be) small bonus was there to reward the people just a bit so they'd get something if they're not that good of a painter/racer/drifter/whatever. Right now the lobbies are a way of making money and that's not supposed to happen.
It's great that you said that you will find another way to earn money, that's what I want to stimulate. Let's get events going, start up a unique shop, be a smart marketeer or whatever floats your boat!
Another great thing is that you said that you made your cars without the lobby bonuses, so why would you need it? The only thing that would do is give you even more cars or speed up the builds. Were you bother by waiting for payday so you could buy a part? Probably not. Do you want another five or so cars? Probably not, or maybe, knowing you ;]
I wish more people would see that getting loads of money fast actually ruins the game..

| Yeah, but "keeping it real" is such a slippery slope. :/
Even if you got $1k per week, and that was your ONLY income here, given enough time there would still be people with built-to-the-hilt drift cars and crazy R34s and FDs and stuff. So trying to keep the "scene" alive comes down to people wanting to simulate the grassroots lifestyle. Then it becomes an honor system thing.
To put it simply:
Money+Time=Grassroots out the window.
I only need like two cars to be happy here. The rest of my BNB cars I can just use as non-BNB cars. What's stopping me? Not every single lobby we do has to be BNB, guys. I propose this:
Keep BNB grassroots. Keep the cars on a tight budget and get active in the community. Use your fat stacks of cash (if you have them) to benefit the community. Don't just hand it out, that doesn't help us grow. Run events and back them with your wallet. I built Blackbeard up to what he is now using just my own BNB income. And now I'm raffling him off and using him to draw people into our matsuri.
If you have crazy Supras and junk, whatever. If you ask me? Save those for outside of BNB. Build your cars grassroots here. Stay true to the namesake and commit to it.
I'm going back to my 350HP ways. I'm culling my garage and starting some more events. If you're with me, we can help make BNB awesome again.

| I'd like to see more value placed into build threads, I love reading through peoples Garages and following an in-depth build or a decent story (like in Horizon), it allows much more than just a drifting society but creativity on a multitude of levels, but there feels like there is little incentive to put any real detail or care into your Garages or/and builds (besides paintwork). | |

This is wrong. The bonus was always $8,000. It's been that way for years. The only time it was small was when the lobby wasn't a 16 man. It WAS used as an incentive to help get BnB's name out there a bit bigger.

| Hmm.. I'm with you but I think people should be allowed to be able to get "prestige" cars like the Mustang and Skylines and whatever. That way it would be rare to see a car like that and you as an owner could be even more proud of it. YOU earned that car. YOU worked for that car.
Also, what I've learned from the previous year or so:
Drifting low powered cars really ups your skill. Adding part by part to your car gives a connection to your car and let you get to "know" her better, thus becoming a better drifter. Having not a lot of money and cars lets you focus on your one car in particular, making it better and better. Your car gets way more personalised. People recognise you by your car, also outside BNB. FUN!

It WAS used as an incentive to help get BnB's name out there a bit bigger. When I started out, lobby bonuses were a flat rate of $500. After that around $1,000 or $1,500.

| You right I DON'T need them my man. I WANTED the 8 k so I could kick Falken ass in his drag event. Hands down no lie! Lol. But I'm only getting that money because it was stated in the rules. Is that the reason I joined it? He'll no my dude we were drifting in lobbies before that happened. What happened after that lobby? I still drifted with the boys after that. And guess whats gonna happen later...I'm gonna open a BnB lobby and have some more fun! And yes 7 more cars would be nice! Lol!
But I'm with ya buddy. There needs to be way more events. I'm down for what ever. Even gonna get my drag shop up and running. And that won't be about money what so ever. That's about sharing what I know about forza dragging with some cool dudes...and to me that's what BnB is about!

| As I said in the lobby, if there's animo I'm willing to run events. ;] However, I don't have all the time in the world and I already do a lot for BNB, would be nice to have a team to run events or so.
There's still the issue of the lobby bonus but I guess I'll just wait till Smooth replies. Or raise a petition. Or do a dance in my undies. I don't know anymore.

I don't know anymore. /raises hand The aim of Team Spooky is to inspire and help along the low-power beater drift community. I want to run matsuri events in time with the real ones at Ebisu (as in, with each changing season) and smaller, much more frequent ones in between those. Like one every month. I'm also more than willing to run a small beater car broker, if Smooth will let me. Basically sell pre-built matsuri cars for cheap. Stuff like I like to run, stock car with MAYBE race coils and a welded diff. I'd even paint each one uniquely for that second-hand abused look. I'll even back it with my own wallet 100%, it'll give me something to do with all this extra money and my extra cars. I would deffo be losing money on it, and I don't care. Losing money is the new cool. But I know, all we ever do is drift, haha. I'll let someone else pipe up in support of other events.
