| It's what they did in the 80's and 90's in america (Think it was 90's might be 70's & 80's) there trying to make it too expensive to drive, so public transport gets a grip again and to cut down on traffic and emissions.
Give it another 10years and it'll hopefully go back to being cheap as hell. | |

| 70's was the oil crisis, thats why driving became too expensive so this 0_70_Charger_org_dsfrntfl by MosukeKodoSan, on Flickr became this 4137055076_d450ca6f7c by MosukeKodoSan, on Flickr and the world died a little currently the insurers of the uk are using a European court ruling that it is discriminatory and there for illegal to base premiums on gender so they have to 'adjust' the cost of policies which costs time and money the real reasons for the increase is 1 uk underwriters rely heavily on the stock market to gain extra money and thanks to the global financial crisis they may have well used stacks of cash to heat their tea kettles 2 the number of injury claims has gone up by 15% every year for 15 years, thanks to no win no fee legislation... oh and until recently it was perfectly legal for insurance companies to sell your details after an accident to claims companies so they could harass you over making a claim, increasing premiums as a consequence but they get a bigger payout for the same percentage of the premium and a second dip if you had an accident 3 the use of uninsured drivers as an excuse for rising premiums, but the fact is the police are taking thousands of uninsured cars off the road every month thanks to ANPR and random roadside checks (i've been stopped 5 times in 6 months for insurance, red diesel, drink driving and road-worthiness checks in london) And what they forget to mention is that insurers have to pay into a fund for drivers hit by uninsured drivers every year and have been legally obliged to for decades, they rarely tell people about the fun as the more people use it the more they have to pay in, so its better to let people claim on their insurance so the insurers can get more money back by massively increasing premiums for making the claim did i mention in the uk if your car is parked safely and someone crashes into it while youre not there and they do the right thing and everything gets sorted through their insurance so you are 100% not to blame and have cost your insurer nothing what so ever.... they WILL sill increase your next premium because your car has been involved in an accident! ok rant over lol | |

| oil and fuel prices in the uk are more effected by tax and money grabbing petroleum companies then the usa, but because the us government are too scared to increase tax on 'gas' for fear of rioting lol the cost of manufacture plays a bigger part in the cost at pump and currently as in the 90's oils expensive due to the middle east. even if the us government are still kissing iran's ass | |
